DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

—o The usual monthly meeting of tin- Committee of Management of the above Institution was hold in the' Committee Room, Town Hall, Clyde, on Monday evening last tho 7th instant. Present : —B. Naylor, Esq., (President), W. L, Simpson, Esq., (Vico President), tho Rev. ,T. Dewo, and Messrs Attfield, Auckland, Cambridge, Holt, J. E, Stevens, (Treasurer) and G. Fache, (Secretary). Tho minutes of tho previous monthly meeting, and of tho Special Meeting were read and confirmed. . The inward correspondence was read and received, including a letter from tho Secretary of the Otago Bible Society, o flu ring to supply the Institution with Bibles. From late patients respecting their dues. From V. Pyko, Esq., M.H.R., being a reply to telegram, informing him of tho destruction of tho Institution, and wherein ho recommends the Committee to re-erect. Resolved—That the offer of the Secretary of tho Otago Bible Society be accepted, with thanks, and a request for an English, a German, and .a Douay bible bo made. Resolved—That the Secretary write to Patrick Cahill, and inform him that tho Committee, while acknowledging tho receipt from him of the L 5 on account of fines, have no power to receive it as in full of all demands, and that though the Committee will not press for the balance, they expect to ho paid. Mr Williams, tho contractor for maintaining the Hospital race, was in attendance, and explained that through the late heavy rains about four chains, which have been carried away, will require to be fiumed. It was arranged that Mr Williams give in an estimate of the cost of repairing the race. The Visiting Committee’s Report, No. 2, recommending tho payment of accounts, amounting to L 54 6s. 10iL, was read and adopted. The Treasurer’s report, as follows, was read and received. Receipts. Passed accounts unpaid £54 6 10 The Surgeon’s report was as follows That no patients had been admitted or discharged during the past month, and that four remained in the Hospital on September 30. The Building Committee reported they had selected a site for the new building on I the terrace to the South of the Surgeon’s residence, and also laid on the table ground plan of building they propose to erect. Resolved— I That the site and ground plan be adopted ; that plans of the two front elevations be drawn up, and that alternative tenders he called by advertisement twice in the Dunstan Times, and once in the Cromwell Argus for the erection of the now building.—(see advertisement). Mr Cambridge was re-elected a ' member of the Visiting Committee. The Collector was instructed *to make a special canvass for subscriptions, and to report of his success at the next meeting. The meeting then adjourned' till the 21st instant.
