The Government baa accepted the tender of the Peninsular and Oriental Company for the conveyance of the Indian and China mails fur eight years from February, 18S0 August 20. It was resolved by a unanimous resolution by the Associated Chambers of Commerce of Sheffield that the present Australian mail service is unsatisfactory, and they urged that steps should ho taken to quicken it.
