He also noted that two patients had been admitted during the month on recommendation forms overdue. Tho Secretary was instructed to inform the Surgeon that Forms of Recommendation were only available for twelve mouths from date of the same, and that it rested entirely with him, if he admitted patients on Forms overdue. The Secretary was instructed to write to the Post Master General, enclosing a copy of correspondence with the Chief Postmaster, and ask him to grant the request of the Committee, for a letter box free of charge.
Mr William Auckland was elected member of the Visiting Committee, vice Mr Beck retiring by rotation. The Treasurer said, by reference to the paying patients’ book, he discovered that a great many had not paid their dues, in fact, for the current year nearly LIOO were due. Discussion ensued as to the desirability of pressing for the amounts. The expressed opinion, however, was that in all cases where it was known that the people had moans they should bo compelled to pay. The Secretary was instructed to notify by circular all parties owing monies to the Hospital for maintenance and medical attendance dues, that if the same is not paid, proceedings will follow. The Treasurer was authorised to take action against all who do not respond to the circular.
A vote of thanks to the Chair closed the proceedings.
