DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

- o The nsnal monthly meeting of the Com mittee of Management was held on Monday evening last, the Bth inst, at 8 p.m. Present— B. Naylor, Esq., (President), W. L. Simpson, Esq., (Vice-President), P.ev. J. Dcwe, and Messrs. Auckland, Cambridge, J. R. Stevens (Treasurer), and Geo. Fache (Secretary),

Inward correspondence was read and received, as follows : From A. A. Oliver, asking permission to draw water from the Hospital Race by a two-ineh pipe, for domestic purposes, and offering 14 per year for same; from Mr. W. Williams, stating that his last contract for making and repairing the water race entailed considerably more labor than he expected, in fact, instead of the course marked out having a fall it was the reverse, and asking the Committee to vote him an extra amount.

Resolved—That Mr Oliver he allowed to take water from the water race provided he does not diminish the flow by more than a fourth, at a weekly rental of 2s, either party to determine agreement by giving one month’s notice.

Resolved—That, in consideration of M r Williams undertaking the maintenance of the Hospital Race for L 5 per year this Committee vote him an, extra L 5 on his contract.

Visiting Committee reported having visited the Institution during the past month, and found everything satisfactory. Report No. 2, recommending payment of accounts for salaries and supplies for the past month amounting to L 45 13s Id, was read and received. The Treasurers report, was read and received. The Surgeon reported as follows; No. of Patients in Hospital June Ist ... 2 Do. since admitted ... 6 Do. discharged ... ... 2 Do. remaining in June 30th 6 No. of Outdoor Patients treated ... 4 Mr Cambridge was elected member of the Visiting Committee vice Mr Auckland retiring. The Secretary was instructed to write to the Chief Postmaster, Dunedin, asking him to give to the Hospital the use of a letterbox at tlw Pist-office, free. The Secretary was requested to solicit from the Borough Council a donation in aid of the Institution, A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the proceedings.
