—o— Wo have been kindly favored by Mr Stevens, Master of the Clyde School, with the following report for publication ; The Clyde Public School was examined by mo on the 11th of March. The following statement shews the number of pupils presented in each standard, and also the number of “passes” in each of the undermcn tioned subjects i Standard I.—Presented S : Reading, 8 ; Spelling, 2 ; Writing, 8 ; Arithmetic, 3 ; Grammar, 0. Standard IT.—Presented 12 : Reading, 12 ; Spelling, S ; Writing, 12; Arithmetic, 3 ; Grammar, 0. Standard lll.—Presented 10 : Reading, 10 ; Spelling, 7 ; Writing, 9 ; Arithmetic, 9 ; Grammar, 8. Standard IV.—Presented IC : Reading, 16 ; Spelling, 15 ; Writing, 1C ; Arithmetic, 13 ; Grammar, 13. Standard V —Presented 3 ; Reading, 3 ; Spelling, 3 ; Writing, 3 ; Arithmetic, 3 ; Grammar, 3. These results are extremely creditable. The whole work of the Schoolis distinguished by great thoroughness and intelligence, and the Master and Mistress have discharged their duties with great efficiency and skill. Sowing is superintended with due care. The tone, discipline, and attention of the pupils continue to be excellent. D. Petrie, M.A., Inspector of Schools.
