j June in any year only one-half of the said fees shall ba I payable. ! 7. —Duration of License. Every such License shall remain in force from the date [ thereof until the 31st day of December then next ensuing, and no longer. 8. —Notice oj intention to slaughter Cattle to be given. Every licensed person intending to slaughter cattle within the Vincent County shall first give six hours’ notice in writing to the officer appointed by the Council as Inspector of Abattoirs and Slaughter-houses, and of Cattle intended to be slaughtered,” hereinafter called “ the Inspector,” specifying the time and place of slaughter and shall set forth in such notice the true and correct brands of the cattle intended to be slaughtered. 9. inhere no Notice can he given, skins to be kept and produced. If the Notice mentioned in the preceding clause of this Byelaw cannot be given owing to some unforeseen accident, or if it is necessary that such cattle shall be immediately slaughtered, the person so slaughtering such cattle shall give notice thereof immediately thereafter vo the Inspector aforesaid, and the skins of such cattle shall be kept or preserved for seven days and shall be produced on demand at the place of slaughter to the said Inspector. 10. — Slaughter-houses to be kept Clean. Every licensed Slaughter-house shall be kept clean and the buildings shall he scraped, white-washed, and purified to the satisfaction of the Inspector aforesaid. 11. —Offensive Matter to be Demoted, All blood offal or other offensive matter shall bo removed from such licensed premises at least once in every twenty-four hours.
12 —Only Licensee or his Servant to Slaughter Animals. No person except the licensee or his servant bond fide shall £la lighter any animal in such licensed premises and any person not complying with, or permitting, or suffering any breach of this Bye-law shall be held to be unlicensed notwithstanding that he may be possessed of a License. 13. —Cattle not to be kept longer than seven days. It shall not be lawful to keep within or upon any licensed premises for a period longer than seven days any cattle intended for slaughter. 14. —Licensee to keep a Register. Every licensee shall keep a register of all cattle slaughtered at his licensed premises in the manner prescribed by the Twenty-sixth Section of “The Slaughter-houses Act, 1877.” 15. —Animals unfit fior Human Food. There shall not be admitted into any licensed premises any animal which from injury or other cause would noc when killed be fit for human food nor shall there be so admitted the carcase of any animal unfit for human food. IG. —LAcensee to give Notice of any Diseased Animal.. Every licensee shall give immediate notice in writing to the County '"fiork and to the Inspector of any diseased animal being brought to such licensed Slaughter-house for slaughter. 17. —Cattle to be properly watered and fed. All cattle received into pens stalls or yards belonging to any licensed Slaughter-house shall be properly watered and fed once at least in every twenty-four hours. 18. —Certain persons to he admitted to Licensed Premises.
Every licensee shall admit to his licensed premises at any hour of the day or night any Justice of the Peace, Constable, Inspector, or other officer of the Council. 19. —Power to revoke License. The County Council may at any time revoke a Slaughter-house License for any breach of this Bye-law or of any other Bye-law to be made, for the keeping of Slaughterhouses. 20. Penalties. Any person guilty of any offence of omission or commission against this Bye-law shall forfeit and pay a sum not exceeding five pounds to be recovered in a summary way before any two or more Justices of the Peace in the manner provided by “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1866,” and any Acts amending the same.
