The ! weather was boisterous, showery, and very ■ unpleasant, and there was not as maiiy per* sous on the course ns might have been expected. When the first race started thero | were not more than 500 or 600 present. I There was a great want of punctuality in j getting the several events off. Owing to tho rain that has fa'len lately the course was very heavy, anil the Maiden Plate was ■ a very slow race.
