The Austrian Minister for Foreign Affairs, in asking for a grant ot sixty million florins, said Austria must demand of the peace congress that a limitation of the results of the war should bo deflned, whereby European and Austro-Hungarian interests remain uninjured. Any single Power attempting a solution of the difficulty must bo prepared to'meet a European condition. Thq Australian January mail via Brindisi was delivered to-day. It is semi-officially stated from Vienna that war is regarded as inevitable when Russia submits for consideration at the European Congress the whole of the conditions of peace. It is probable that England and France will take joint action respecting Egypt. Tho 'Western Powers are supporting the admission of Greece to tho Congress.
