I JAMES HOLT, being the hold--5 er of a License to constructand use a Water-race, nine miles in length heading out of Wai Keri Keri Creek at the Gorge, and terminating at the Coal Reserve, Clyde, to carry 2 sluice heads (original 'Certificate, No. 00456, dated 22nd March, 1863 :; last renewal, License 3475, dated the 26(h March, 1877) which said Race is the first right in existence granted out of the Wai Keri Keri Creek, hereby make application pursuant to Section 88 of the “ Mines Act, 1877,” to surrender the Water-race hereby granted to and now vested in me for the purpose of obtaining a title to the said Water-race for the longest term allowed by the said Act, and I further make application for the issue of a License to me of the said Race under the said Mines’ Act. TAKE NOTICE, that it is intended to construct a Water Race, and divert three Government heads of water, to be used for domestic, industrial, irrigation, and finally for gold-mining purposes (when not required for the aforesaid domestic, industrial and irrigation), commencing an a point in the Gorge, in the Wia Keri Keri Creek, close to the head of James Holt’s Race, and terminating above the Dunstan Hospital, on the East Bank of the Molyneux. The length of such Race is Eight (8) miles, or thereabout; and its intended course is iu conjunction with James Holt’s Race from the starting point as far as Section 69, Block 11., Leaning Rock District, or thereabout, theuce through said Section 69, 68, 67, 45, 44. 43, 42, and 41 of said Block, held by me in freehold, in the Wia Keri Keri Valley, and thence in conjunction again with James Holt’s Race as far as Williams' round Farm, and thence through said farm across the Public Road to Monte Christo Farm, and thence to the point of destination through the Dunstan Flat, on the Molyneux River. JEAN DESIRE FERAUD. Any Person objecting to the grant ing of this Application must lodge his objection in writing at the Warden’s Office, at Clyde, before the 28th February, 1878. NOTICE. PROOF having been given to the Assessment Court for the Borough of Alexandra'that failure has been made to prepare Valuation Lists of the rateable property in said Borough, within the time required by the Rating Act, 1876, I hereby notifv that under the 28th Section of the said Act, I have appointed Valuers to prepare such Lists. That FRIDAY, the Bth February current, has been fixed for the completion of such Lists, and MONDAY, the 25rh February current, as the day r.p to which the Lists will bo open for public inspection at the Borough Council Offices, Alexandra, on or before which last mentioned date all objections must be bdged at the Resident Magistrate’s Court, Alexandra, and a copy of such objections must be lodged with the Clerk of the Borough Council seven days before the sitting of the Court the date of which will be hereafter notified.
