(from our correspondent.) Dunedin, Feb. 2nd. Special telegram states— Tbo.Russians are nearing Gallipoli. The Government informed their supporters their intention to defend Constantinople and Gallipoli. Gn the 25th the Government asked for six million pounds war vote. Lord Demy aud Earl Carnarvon have resigned their seats in the Cabinet. The Mediterranean Fleet received orders to defend Gallipoli. The next day the order was stayed in consequence of the Russians sending communications. [The above was issued as an extra oc Saturday last.] Dunedin, February 7. At tho meeting of the Waste Lands Board yesterday it was agreed that tbe following land in Wakaia, Wakaka, and Teviot districts he opened up for settlement 9000 acres on run 326, 5000 acres on run 194, 5000 acres on run 193, 5000 acres near Waikak*, 1 9000 -acres at Miller's Flat, fiUOO acres mi run 199, aud 2500 acres 011 run 369—total, 40,500.
