MUNICIPALITY OF CLYDE.
A special moating was held in. the Council. Chambers on Tuesday evening last, the 29th nit. Present—S. Welsford, Esq., Mayor, ~ and Councillors Clark and Beck. Cr Auckland was also in attendance at the opening of the meeting, but declined to act nnle« ■ with a fuller Council Tho Mayor explained that the object of the meeting was to consider what action should be taken in the suit Feraud v. the - Corporation of Clyde. He said that in company with the acting Town Clerk (Mr'Fache) he had waited on Mr Wilson, the Corporation Solicitor, who expressed hiiqsglf that though the decision had gone against the Corporation in the 1 Warden’s Court, there was debatable ground of appeal He (the Mayor) considered that to, allow’Ehe property that had cost the Corporation LS/XS to slip through their fingers without a struggle, ! they, as a'Council, Would not helloing their | duty or conserving tho.,,in tercels of , the town.
