THE RUNS.

At the sitting of the Lands Board on Wednesday, July 11, the Chief Surveyor forwarded a tracuig of the remaining portion of Bun 92 (Borton and M ‘Master’s), Marewhenua, and recommended that it be subdivided and sold. The Chief Commissioner said the whole of this run except the 1200 acres now reported on had been sold as Hundreds. He had no doubt that a good price would be got for this land. Mr Butterworlh : It will not be required for the purpose of the interior railway, via Oatnaru ? Mr Clark : No. In reference to run 88 (the Hon. Dr Merz'es’) the Chief Commissioner said it was in a similar position to run 74, lately lately dealt with by the Board, both being part of the Educational endowment. It was contiguous to run 74, and contained CG7S acres. He referred the matter to the Education Board, which had forwarded him the following resolution ; “Thattha Waste Land Board be requested to give intimation to the pastoral lessee of run 88, that the lease of the said run will bo determined on the expiry of the term, viz., August 14, 1878.” The Chief Surveyor reported in reference to the run in these terms : “ I would recommend that this country be surveyed into sections and sold. I may state that this land is contiguous to the Mokercta Hundred, which has almost all been taken up, and I have little doubt hut that this also would find ready sale.” The Board decided to give notice to the lessees of runs 92 and SS, and that the same will not bo again leased, in whole or in part, for pastoral purposes, and to obtain his Excellency’s approval thereto.”
