Earl Derby’s despatch repudiates the arguments used in Prince Gortschakoff’s •circular,"and declares that the Czar violates ■the Treaties of 1856 and 1861— a course which separates him from the concert of the other Powers, who were co-signatories with him ; that the Czar departs from the rule to which he himself consented ; and that, since Russia assumes to act in the interest of the other Powers, England declares she cannot concur in, or approve of, ■the decision of Russia. Russia declines to reply. Bombay, May 9. In the House of Commons, Mr Gladstone unexpectedly withdrew the obnoxious I portion of his resolution. This ■ caused a scene of tumult and confusion. The Marquis of -'Harrington accepted the remainder. Mr Gladstone vigorously attacked the {Government 1] policy. Mr Wolff moved the rejection of the motion. The Roumanian Chamber passed a resolution to authorities scouring the independence of Roumania. Latest accounts -state that the 'battle of Eeni is not yet confirmed. The Russian batteries at Ibrailid sunk a Turkish Ironclad, with two hundred men ■ on board. Official despatches'-Statc that the Russian troops have arrived at Dadin. The Turkish official accounts state that ■Russian army corps unsuccessfully attacked their entrenchments near Batoum, and were repulsed, with the loss of 40,000 men. The British Mediterranean Squadron has been ordered to Port Said.
