CRICKET.
Married v. Single. On Eatter Monday a most enjoyable game was played on the Clyde ground, the opposing sides being the married and single, selected just as they arrived on the ground, and without any pre-arrangement. Considering the very little or rather ho practice that any have had, the play was good, several showing a fair knowledge of the game, and wo can only say that it is a pity that more time is not given to the game, as with practice there are several who could make it lively for the field. To the oldestablished players these remarks do not refer; they, however, would be hone the worse for a trifle more practice. The day was beautifully fine, and onlookers, of whom there was a good sprinkling, and players alike, appeared to thoroughly enjoy the game. Unfortunately, time would not allow the game being played out, the single men only having one innings, while the married men had two. The game, therefore was a draw. Below is appended the scores.
