ALEXANDRA SCHOOL.
A special meeting of the Alexandra School Committee was hold on Monday, the 27th ult. Present i R. Finlay, (Chairman), J. Rivera, (Secretary), 1). Robertson, W. Tbeyora, R. MTCeoman, and T. Brown. A letter from tho Mistress, Miss A. Goulding, intimating that she had no present intention of resigning her appointment, and that until the appointment'of a successor to Mr Goulding she was willing to continue tho instruction of tho classes at present under her care, was received, and the Secretary instruote I to reply that the Committee authorised her to continue the instruction of her classes. A letter from Mr R, Goulding was read, and the Committee were unanimously of opinion that it should not be received. Tho Secretary having read the applications tor the Mastership of the School, Mr F. G. Odell, a t present teaching at Wairuna, Clinton, was selcctedt and the Secretary instructed to advise that gentleinnn of his appointment, and ascertain tho earliest date he will be prepared to enter on his duties. The Secretary was also instructed to write to Mr Hislop, advising him of the appointment of Mr Odell. This concluded the business.
