ALEXANDRA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

A special mooting of tho Council was held on Wednesday evening last, the 10th instant. Present—The Mayor and Councillot s Mackersey. Cameron and Theyera, Applications for the Office of Valuators were received from J. 0. 'Chapplo, W. H. flastcdt, and George Ratcliffo. Councillor Theyers moved that Messrs J. C. Chappie and W. H. Hastodt receive tho appointment.—There being no seconder the motion lapsed. Moved by Councillor Cameron, seconded by Councillor Mackorsey and carried—That Messrs J. C. Chapplo and G. Ratcliffo bo appointed valuators for the Corporation, Tho 'Council resolved to borrow L 250 from the Bank of New Zealand to assist in building the Town Hall, and tho Town Cierk was instructed to acknowledge the latter from -Mr Jones, tho Agent, and to inform him that the Council aro prepared to give the necessary security, and are willing to accept tho terms of the advance. Councillor Cameron moved that applications bo invited ‘for superintending the erection of tho Town Hall, applicants to state their terms. —Seconded by Councillor [ Theyers, and carried. I The Town Clerk was requested to ask Constable M'Leod to cause all the' unregistered goats within tho Municipality to be destroyed. Accounts to the amount of L 5 I4s 31 were passed for payment. Tho usual vote of thanks to the Chair closed tho meeting
