DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.
The usual monthly meeeting of the Committee of Management was held in the Committee Rooms on Monday evening last, the 4th instant. Present : B. Naylor, Esq., (in the Chair) and Messrs Attffield, Auckland, Beck, Cambridge, Holt, J. £. Stevens, (Treasurer, and G. Fache, (Secretary.) The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
The inward correspondence, consisting of letters from Dr Thomson, and from James Hazlett, embodying his resignation of the office of President, were read and received ; a"d the outward being replies to Dr Thomson, were read and approved of. Mr Cambridge proposed that the resignation of Mr Hazlett he accepted. He added, at the same time, it afforded him great pleasure in moving a vote of thadks to Mr Hazlett ffer the very great iriterest he has, during his long residence in the district, ever taken in the Dimstan District Hospital ; that the same he -recorded in the minutes of the proceeding, and that the Secretary convey the same to Mr Hazlett in the customary official manner. A question arose as to nominating Mr Hazlett a Life Governor of the of the Institution. After some discussion it was decided to leave the matter ovei till the next meeting of subscribers, as the Committee has not the power to make any such appointment.
The Visiting Committee recommended payment of accounts, for salaries and sup plies, for the past month, amounting to L 77 Is 4d. The Treasure’s report, as follows, was read and received : RECEIPTS. Balance in hand ... ... L 45 3 10 Receipts for month ... ... 84 0 0 1.79 3 10 EXPENDITURE. Passed accounts paid ... ‘1.70 11 / T-8 12 3 ASSETS. Provincial Government subsidy L 73 1 1 Balance in hand ... ... 8 12 3 Ml 13 4 LIABILITIES. Passed accounts unpaid ... L 77 1 4 Credit Balance .. ... L 4 12 0 The Surgeon’s report was read and received. Tenders for the six months ending the 12th of March, were opened and the following accepted Groceries, wines, spirits, etc., B. Naylor; meat, Attfiehl alid AYelsford'; milk. W. Brown ; coals, J. Holt. There being no tender for bread, the Visiting Committee wore empowered to arrange for the supplying of the same. Mr U. Attfiehl was elected member of the Visiting Committee vice Rev. J. Dewe, retiring. A vote of thanks to tho chair concluded the meeting.
