Tho Ministry hoped that tho Government policy would ha acceptable to the House. Mr Macandrew to move the House disapproves of the appointment of Vogel. Stout twitted Ministers with not having pluck enough to appoint iTulius Vogel, and it was unconstitutional while he was a member of the House. Wellington, Sept 7. The Gfild Duties Reduction Bill passed tho seeon 1 reading last night, the debate to be taken on its going into Committee. The Government have offered to subsidise the duty as a rate-two pounds to one. The Bill will'not be given up by Mr Pyke and the gold-fields’ members. Dunedin, Sept. 7.
