The Secretary said that for the year there had only been, as yet handed in, subscriptions from Tinker’s Gully, and he was in hopes that when Drybread, Blacks, Ida Valley, Alexandra, and Spear Grass Plat lists wore in, they combined, would not only, together with the subsidy, clear the existing liability but leave a balance in hand. There were also, ho said, a good number of other subscriptions due, which
he would endeavor to collect by the next meeting.
The Treasurer suggested that the clergymen of the various districts should be asked to give special services among their congregationson behalf of the Hospital. The suggestion was considered a good one, and the Secretary was instructed, to write to the Rev. J. Dowe, Rev. Father Walsh, and Rev. Mr Boyd, asking of them to preach special services on behalf of the Hospital.
The Secretary was further instructed to send circulars throughout the district pointing out the necessitous position of the Hospital, and asking subscriptions or donations. The Secretary was instructed to furnish information required in letter from the New South Wales Colonial Secretary. Mr George Clark was elected auditor vice Mr W. Eames, resigned. A vote of thanks to the Chair concluded the meeting.
