CLYDE TOWN COUNCIL.
Tho usual monthly meeting of the Council was held on Wednesday evening last the 3rd Instant Present, P. Naylor, E-q., Mayor, and Councillors Joss, Fache, Moore-and Beck. The minutes of tho previous meeting were read and confirmed. The inward correspondence, comprising letters from Mr F. J. Wilson, Solicitor, with copy of Bye Laws ; from T. L. Shepherd, E*q., M. 11. R., with copy of Clyde Water Works Bill; from Mr F. W. Burwell, with certificate of Library building, were tread -and received. The outward correspondence were read and adopted. The copy of Bye Laws were read and adopted, and the Town Clerk was instructed to return tho same to Mi - Wilson, and struct him to complete them. A vote of thanks was recorded in favor of Mr T. L. Shepherd for the interest he has taken hnanatters relating to this town and the distinct, Accounts, amounting to LI2G 17s Cd were passed for payment. The Town Clerk in answer to questions said that, on account of the bridge there had been paid the Corporation L 1703, and the overdraft at the Bank was L 1437. The matter of 4te’Assessment was now Brought up, and after discussion the Town Clerk was instructed to give the usual notice {see Advertisement). The question of rates was deferred. A vote of thanks to the Chair concluded tho meeting.
