CORPORATION OF ALEXANDRA.

The usual. fortnightly meeting of the Council was held in the Council Chamberson Wednesday, October 27. Present: J. Samson, Esq., Mayor, and Councillors Finlay, Mackersey, and Theyers. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Inward correspondence : From Mr John Allan, asking pel mission to mine on the road leading to Mr Terry’s boat. Permission was granted on condition that ha leaves tho road as good as at present, foil ■ Moved by Cr Theyers, seconded by Cr Finlay, and carried—That the Town Clerkwrite to the Provincial Government, urging upon them the desirability of commencing the road to tho Waikaia Bush as early in the season as possible. ' Moved by Cr Mackersey, seconded by Cr Theyers—That tho Town-Clerk write to tho Providcial Secretary, requesting him to inform the Council when the vote of Llso will be expended on the road between Alexandra and Clyde. , Moved by Cr Theyers, seconded by Cr Finlay, and carried—That a bonus of L 5 be offered for the most approved design for a Town Hall, to bo built of stone, and not to exceed L4OO in cost for the sholl, including flooring, door, and windows. The length of the Hall to bo 55 feet in depth by 35 feet in width, walls 15 feet high by 2 feet thick. Designs to be sent to the Town Clerk on or before November 27, 1875.’ The above to be advertised in the Dunstan Times twice. Moved by Cr Theyers, seconded by Cr Mackersey, and earned—That the Town Clerk call for tenders for pitching the Channel across Limerick street.
