Wc'rc to have Races hero directly j there will he a grand turn out.—There’s no truth in the rumor that tho Municipality will assemble in Limerick-street, at 10 a.in., and after tho usual salutations have been performed, a procession will ho formed and marched to the Grand Stand with all duo signs of importance’ by the Spirited proprietor of the Geelong—ho is to have a body guard of larrikins, courteously supplied by the new dominco. When they arrive at their destination somebody will make a speech at the crowd.—Can it bo true that an objection has been raised against our local barber riding, on tho ground of his being of a clipper build ? When are wo to have our road to Waikia ? What does echo say f- Kind readers will bo surprised to hear that no lives have been lost in the erect'on of our new Town Hall, nor are likely to be foil fifty years or so. Wc had an entertainment the other night. Clyde was not represented. Dear editor, how is that ’—Business quotations nt much fluctuated since last week. Leather market, rough raw hides (goat) at par, soles dear, uppers low.
