DISTRICT COURT, CLYDE.
—o Monday, August 9th, 1875. (Before His Honor George William Harvey, Judge,) Saunders v. Stewart.—Claim, LIOO damages for wrongful dismissal. Mr W. Johnston for plaintiff ; Mr F. J. Wilson, for defendant. This was an action by plaintiff, avho was a shepherd on the Hawkahurn Station, of which defendant was manager, for damages for wrongful dismissal. The defendant alleged that drunkenness, combined with neglect of duty was the cause of dismissal. Plaintiff in evidence admitted being drunk one evening, but denied neglect. , Witnesses for the defence, however, proved both charges.—Verdict for defendant, with LI 1 7s Cd costs. Kuhtze v, Goodger.—Claim, L1897s lOd on an account stated. Defendant paid LB3 10s 4d into Court, and pleaded that the balance had not been given credit for. Mr Johnston for plaintiff; Mr Wilson for defendant. This was virtually a case of disputed partnership accounts, but it was agreed to bring it within the jurisdiction of the District Court, to rest on the account as stated. After a deal of evidence of no public interest at all, verdict was given for tho plaintiff for tho amount paid into Court, each party having to pay Ms own costs. In Bankruptcy. Mr F. J Wilson applied for complete execution of deed of arrangement by George Bell Williamson, of Roaring Meg.—Granted. Mr F. J. W’lson said he had intended applying for a winding-up order of the Pneumatic Gold Mining Company. He was unable to do so that day there being pome informality in the deed, and asked Ifis Honor to hear the application on his return from Queenstown. Thursday, the 19th inst., was fixed.
