CLYDE SCHOOL.

A mooting of the Committee was held on Tuesiay last the 27th instant. Present, Messrs M'Pherson, Grindlcy, Attfield, Hazlett, Denniston, and Cambridge, (in the Chair). The minutes of the last mooting wore read and continued. The Clerk road a letter from the Scc-e----tary of the Education Board, re Committee’s application for a sum to meet repairs &o , and offering to subsidise local subscriptions to tho extent of 70 1, at the rate of L2 to Ll. On the proposal of Mr Hazlett, seconded by Mr Grindley it -vas resolved that Messrs Hazlett and Attfield be appointed to canvass tho Town for subscriptions so as to secure the subsidy offered by tho Government ; also, that tho Members of the Committee be furnished with subscription lists. Tho Treasurer having reported on the financial position of tho School, Mr Denniston proposed and Mr Hazlett seconded that a Concert bo held in aid of the general funds, and that Messrs Cambridge, GrindIcy, MH’herson, M'C'onnochio, andDenniston bo appointed to carry out tho necessary arrangements. Mr A. R. Livingstone’s account for books L 5 lls 5d was passed for payment. The Clerk read a letter from Mr C. D. Stock, asking for tho use of the School for Sunday School purposes. It was resolved that Mr Stock’s request he granted on the understanding that the building is loft in goo;l order. A vote of thanks to the Chair concluded the meeting.
