It is said there is a man in Westport who fell so low in the social scale as to have recourse to getting a sworn character from a bellman, which lie hawks about him as the only “bona fide” of character. This does not tell badly for Westport, but only proves forcibly that black sheep must not class -among bell-wethers.—Charleston Hereld.
