CLYDE TOWN COUNCIL.

The usual fortnightly meeting of the Council was hehl on Wednesday evening last, the 10th inst.j at 8 p.m. Present— B. Naylor. Esq., Mayor; and Councillors Wazlett, Hurston, and Welsford. The minutes of previous meetings were read and confirmed.

Inward and outward correspondence was road, received, and adopted. Inward letters, amon-st others, comprised

application by Mr J. U. Cambridge, contractor for Athenaeum building, for an advance, and for an extension of time in which to complete buibhng. From Alexandra Town Council, asking the co-operation of this Council in "the petitioning of tbe Government to place a sum on the Estimates for the formation and construction of a road to the Wakaia Bn°h. Resolved—That LIOO be advanced the contractor of Athenaeum building.

Resolved—That the Council assist in every possible way in its power the Alexandra Town Council in having a road opened to the Wakaia Bush.

Accounts, amounting to L 55 8s Id, were passed for payment. Piscnssion ensued as to moans of supplying the Hospital with water from the Town race. The matter at length was left in the hands of the Flavor and Or Hazlett, who arranged to visit the race on the following day. A vote of thanks to the chair closed the proceedings.
