CROMWELL HOSPITAL.

—o — A meeting of the Cromwell Hospital took; place last week at whrh there were present. Messrs Starkey; Marsh, Jolly, Scott, Gudgeon, Taylor, C. Johnson, and Dawkins, The contractor informed the Committee that the building would bo finished in six weeks at the outside. It was resolved that the list of subscribers should be publish? I in the Cromwell Argu°, and that Mr Lo-

gan’s list should be advertised in a Dunedin paper. Messrs Snook and Wakefield were elected auditors at a salary of one guinea each. A suh-comniittce consisting of Messrs Taylor, Johnson, Marsh and Jolly we T c appointed to ascertain the furniture, &0., that would be required and to report to the next Committee meeting. The Secretary was instructed to communicate with the Dunstan, Tuapeka , and Hoghurn Hospital Committees with a view to secure copy of Rules.

It was propose !hy Mr Taylor seconded by Mr Marsh and carried —That a meeting of tho subscribers be held in a fortnight for the election of a permanent managing Committee, bub that the ]ire>cnt Committee hold office till tho completion oi tho building. The Secretary was directed to write to Mr MTvellar respecting the gr-nt of land for Hospital purposes. A few accounts were passed for payment, when the proceedings were brought to a close by tho usual vote of thanks to tho chair.
