DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

The usual monthly meeting of the Coramjttee of Management was held in the Committee Room, Town Hall, Clyde, on Tuesday evening last the 2uJ instant, at 8 p.m. Present-James Haz’ett. Esq., President ;W. L. Simpson, Esq, Vice President ; and Messrs Cambridge, Clark, Beck, Auckland, J. E. Stevens, (Treasurer,) and G. Faohe, (Secretary. ) The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Visiting Committee reported on accounts, and recommended the payment of 143 11s 2d, for Salaries, (Supplies, &., for month ending January 31. Discussion ensued on the extra expendithre for the rasnth ; it was explained that a number of accounts wore fur last year’s supplies, including Mr Marie’s account for coals, &c.,24f. Messrs Cambridge and Clark were appointed members of Visiting Committee. Eesolved—That the days of meeting in future be on the first Tuesday in each month instead of Monday as formerly.

Discussion ensued as to the best course to he adopted to obtain payment of dues from patients who entered the Institution as paying patients. It was eventually decided...That the Eesident Surgeon demand from each paying patient on entering the Institution a week’s dues in advance ; also, to obtain from each patient on his leaving the Institution a Promissory Note for the amount of his unpaid dues at the rate of 30s. per week.

The question now arose as to position of the Committee ami T)r Allan, the deputy of Dr Thomson during the latter’s absence.

Resolved—That the President have an Agreement drawn up, laying down the relative position of the Surgeon and the Committee.

Resolved—That the subscriptions for the past year he advertised ; also, that the subscriptions for each mouth be in future advertised.

Resolved—That as an acknowledgment by this Committee of the faithful discharge by Mr and Mrs Russell of their onerous duties since their occupancy of the offices of Wardsman and Matron, a bonus of 51. be given them. The meeting closed with the usual vote of thanks to the Chair.
