CROMWELL KILWILLINO LODGE, S.C., No. 535.
—o— INSTALLATION, On Wednesday last the ceremony of installation of officers for the current year took place in the new Athenaeum building. The attendance of brethren of the mystic tie far exceeded that of any previous like occasion in Cromwell, and demonstrated most clearly the growing popularity of the Order. The Rev. J. Jones, R.W.M. of the Dunsfan Lodge, assisted by Bro. J. A. Preshaw, P. M. performed the ceremony. The following are the names of the Officers installed; Bro. C. F. Johnson, R.W.M.; Bro. H. Behrens, S.M.; Bro. W. Bell, D. M ; Bro. J. W. Escott, S.W. ; Bro. W. Taylor, J.W. ; Bro, U. W. Wright, S.D ; Bro. J. Crombie, J.D. ; Bro. J. Escott, LG; Bro. J. Taylor, Trea. ; Bro. J. Marshall, Sec. ; Bro. R Moore, Tyl«r. In the evening the Gall having been divested of tho Lodge paraphanalia, and uniquely decorated with festoons and flowers for the INVITATION BALL, given by the Brethren, to celebrate tho event. About sixty couples assembled, and to the strains of the music, most admirably discoursed by the Clyde Brass Band, tripped right merrily through the twentyfour dances in the programme, The right h»arty enjoyment of one and all, made manifest by the ready response to the M.C.’s call to select partners, for each dance, was evidence in itself that tho Cromwell Masonic Ball was a success. In the beginning of the evening the Hall presented a most pleasing appearance, the pose to be seen at times being perfect, the many colored dresses of the ladies, and the deep red and bluo regalia of the Masonic brethren rendering the scone striking. Tho refreshments were in abundance, and the caterers, Messrs Webb and Fraser, of Clyde, were well patronized from the opening to tho end.
