EARLY CLOSING.

(to the editor of the dunstan times.) Sir I have seen in your columns at dilferent times letters on early closing, but I do not find our stores shut any the earlier. The Early Closing Association of Dunedin respectfully ask the Public not to shop after a certain hour, would it not be a good idea if the Public resolved not to shop after half past seven or eight o’clock in the evening—they would certainly confer a boon on the employes, as well as the storekeeper, who, after the day’s toil might take a little fresh air after being stoved in doors the whole day, lot alone a saving of kerosene, and no one would bo any loser. In Dunedin most business places are shut at an early hour, therefore it is reasonable to suppose that it does not require twelve or thirteen hours to transact it up country. Your’s &e,, Recreation.
