o (Before W. L. Simpson, EsqWarden.) Pitches v. Gifford. Forfeiture of a claim at Bracks No. 3. After hearing evidence the Warden proposed an amicable arrangement of the matters apparently in dispute, After a short consultation defendant consented to his certificate being cancelled for a portion ot the ground, and the matter was then settled. It appeared that the ground in dispute is partly on the deep Had of Blacks No. 3, and partly on the shallow reef; and that Mr Pitches desired to obtain the deep ground, in order to sink a shaft whilst Gifford only wanted the shallow ground for sluicing, Mr Wilson, solicitor, anpeared for plaintiff. Healy v. M‘lndue —Encroachment on a mining claim on the flat, Blacks No. I. Settled.

There were about a dozen other applications, several of which were objected to, but all were arranged.
