The Chairman in opening the meeting explained its object—that of electing a permanent Boaid of Diiectois ; ho said he was glad to sen so good an attendance, it evidenced that an interest was felt in the undertaking, and he hoped that that interest would not flag until the Mill was erected and the scheme brought to a successful termination ; he then called on the Secretary to read the report of the Provisional Diicc tors. The nomination was now proceeded with, and thirteen gentlemen were proposed. A ballot was taken with the following result : —Robert Wdson, Esq., of Dunedin, and Messrs Ha deft, Mavlor and Auckland, of Clyde ; Messrs Williams and Hanlon, of Wai Kori Ken Valley; and Mr M ‘Arthur of Yankee Flat.

The Chairman said ho understood that Chat I,) Creek was selected as the site, and so far as ho was concerned that would ho adhered to ii there was sufficient water for motive power and a conaenicnt piece of ground for site could ho obtain d. The mooting then closed with a vote of thanks to the Chair.
