In the second paragraph lie states that two settlers neglected to send in their brands, and tlu-ir horses not being known, &e. I admit I did not send brands, neither has Mr. Glassfmd sent ns the brands of his sheep depasturing on our commonage even up to this day. As to the hj rsesnot, being Known, this 1 deny, his own men told a party at the yards, that White's hnrsis were in the nodi, and were going to pound. Further, one of the men that went to the pound with the horses sent word to White from Cliatto Creek hy two gentlemen who happened to he passing, to go after bis liorscs at the Clyde pound, which he (White) did, ami toi-k them out the same day they were impounded.
