DUNSTAN DISTRICT FLOUR-MILL

A meeting of the Provisional Director* of the above Company was held in the Council Chambers. Clyde, on Tuesday ev nin" last, the 25th inst. There were present : Messrs. Hazletk (in the chair), Williams, Cambridge, Auckland, and Cache (interim Secretary). The minutes o£ previous meetings were read and confirmed The Secretary said the business of the meeting, he believed, was to take steps to fix on the site of the proposed mill. He explained that the matter had been the subject of conve sation with many gentlemen interested, and the prevailing opinion was that as a supply of water as motive power could not be relied on in the immediate vicinity of Clyde it would be better to construct the mill at Chatto Creek. In answer to a question, Mr. Fache said that the shareholders alone had the power to fix on the site. Proposed by Mr. Auckland, seconded by Mr. Williams, That this meeting beinc of the opinion that a flour-mill at Chatto Creek will answer the purposes of the entire Dunstrict, convey their opinion to the shareholders in a report, tarried. Proposed by Mr. Cambridge, seconded by Mr. WPliaras, and carried, That a meeting of the shan holders of the Dunstau District Flour Mill Company he held in the | Library Hall, Clyde, on Wednesday, the I 17th <>f December, at 7 p m., to receive the ! report of the Provincial Direc- . tors, and definitely fix on the site for the mill. 1 After sonic further discussion, during which the opinion was elicited that, by the mill being erected at Chatto Creek, the support of every portion of the district would be secured, i The Secretary was instructed to draw up ! a report to ho laid before the meeting of shareholdels, and also to canvas for shareholders | A vote of ‘hanks to the Chairman closed ! the proceeding.
