A curious statement was made the other day in a London police Court. A dancingmaster, who was prosecuting a man for an assault, admitted in cross-examination that he had never lived with his wife. On the wedding-day he spent ten minutes in her company, and then left her. It was the wish of her parents that he should marry their daughter, and then leave her immediately.
