-0- j The polling for the Superintemlency took place on Wednesday and created more excitement than was anticipated. A majority was fully expected for Mr. Macandrew though the friends of Mr. Gillies were very sanguine, and bestirred themselves to thei r utmost on his behalf. At an early hour were called into requisition to bring iu the electors from the outlying diggings, and soon after, the town presented a seen® of liveliness, which, has not been seen fo 1 ' some time.
