ELECTIONEERING DODGE.
— o— the editor of the dunstan times.) Having attended two meetings convened by Mr. James Hazlett, I have been very much surprised to find there also Mr. T. L. Shepherd, who, after waiting till the business of the properly convened meetings had concluded, jackall-like took advantage (as it seems to me) of an assemblage called togeteer for other purposes than to listen to Mr. Shepherd onMr. Shepherd’s (very questionable) political virtues. I am not sufficiently conversant with the courtesy usual on the occasion of a contested election, but it would appear to me that this sort of thing is going rather beyond the correct lino. But, perhaps, Mr. Shepherd contributed his share of the cost of advertising, &c., and in that case I apologise for mentioning the subject. 1 am, &c., AN ELECTOR. Alexandra, June IG, 1873.
