—o — Tuesday, May 6. (Before W. L. Simpson, Esq., E.M.) William Duffy, laborer, was charged, on the information of Sergeant Shurey, with attempted, rape on a child of tender age. Committed for trial at the next Criminal Session to ho held in Dunedin. W. Auckland v. J. M‘Donald.—Claim, 51. 11s. Settled out of Court. D. Seally v, D. Con-all. —Claim, 10? 12s.
No appearance. Struck out. Carnaby v. Johnson.—Claim, 291.155. 4d. Settled out of Court. Lindsay v. Robertson.—Claim, 161. 4s. The Bailiff explained that personal service had not been made, ho having been unable to find the defendant. Ho had, however, served the summons on the house. His Worship stated that he would dispense with personal service, and adjourned the hearing until the 21st inst.
