DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

The customary monthly meeting, adjour.ed from the 6th inst , was held in the Committee Room, on Friday, the 10th inst., at 8 p.m. Present : James Hazlett, Era., (President) and Messrs Naylor, Holt, Marshall, Auckland, Cox, and G. Fache, (Secretary.) Thu minutes of the previous monthly meeting were rea 1 and contirmedThe inward ami outward correspondence was real, received, and adopted. The Visiting Committee’s Report No. 1. to the effect that the Committee had visited the institution several times during the mon : h, and had found everything satisfactory, and with some few matters of detail, was read and received. Report No. 2., recommending payment of accounts for salaries and supplus, etc , for the past month, amounting to 89/. Os. HJjd. was road and received. The Treasurer’s report as follows, was read and received. Balance in Bank .. ... £4 9 11 Subsidy ilue for quarter ending December 31, 1872 153 1 0 £157 10 11 The Resident Surgeon’s report as follows, was read and received:—Patients admitted during the month, 8; discharged, 9; died, 1; remain! g in Institution. 7; number of out-door patients treated, 8. In remarks attached totho report, it was stated that two patients had been discharged during the month for breach of rules The Secretary was instructed to apply to the Provincial Treasurer for the amount of subsidy due. The Visiting Committee’s and the Surgeon’s reports, both referred to the want of an extra nurse. After some discuseion, it was resolved, That the Visiting committee be empowered to arrange with the Surgeon to procure a suitable person cither male or female as the Surgeon may choose. Resolved, That the annual meeting of Subscribers take place onTueeday, ihe 28lh inst.;, at 2 .p^m.in the Library room, Messrs. Cox and Auckland were reelected members of the Visiting Committee for the ensuing month.- , .
