(from a correspondent.) (Per Grevillb dr Co.)Dunedin, August 8, 5 p.m. ' A resolution for a reduction of the Gold Duty to two shillings an ounce ; it was carried last night on‘a division by 36 to 16. The Government voted against it, but after division they und<>rtook to bring in a Bill to give effect to the resolution. The Otago Waste Lands Bill has passed through the Waste Lands Committee, and it has been reported to the House that if it is passed in its present form it will enable the Waste Lands Board to sell blocks of land on the Gold-fields similar to those sold to Clarke, and Cargill and Anderson, at ten shillings per acre with allowances, which will bring it to about, seven shillings per acre.
