Hazlett (in the chair), Rankin, M'Connochie, Hastie, Griudley, Aldridge, and Christophers (Clerk), The minutes of the last meeting were read ml confirmed. Letters read and received : From the Naseby School Committee, enclosing rate of fees.—From Mr. Vincent Pyke, intimating his inability to attend and lay the foundation stone of the now school house. From the inspector of Schools, stating that Mr. Jones's election was invalid, owing to the Regulations not having been com plied with, —From Mr. Walter Jones, resigning the office of Schoolmaster, at the same time expressing his willingness to conduct the School until such time as a new Master had been appointed. Proposed by Mr. Grindley, seconded by Mr. Rankin, and carried, That the rate of school fees bo reduced to Is. per week for pupils under ten years of age ; above that age, Is. Cd. per week—payable in advance. Proposed by Mr. Grindley, seconded by Mr. M'Connochie, and carried, That Mr. Jones’s resignation and offer be accepted, and that fresh applications be called for, by advertisement, for the appointment of Master and Mistress, at a joint salary of 2251. per annum, such applications to bo sent in not later than the 2nd of July. The Clerk reported the receipt from the Sports.Committee of the sum of Go Ms. 61.; net profits from the sports held on the 24th inst., and also 31. 35., for profits at booth. A vote of thanks was recorded to the Sports Committee and those gentlemen who kindly assisted them. It was resolved to postpone the purchase of a bank for the new school-house, and that Messrs. M‘Connochie and Aldridge be empowered to confer with the supervisors as regards widening the gutter and erecting a belfry. After a vote of thanks to the Chairman, the meeting adjourned.
