AGRICULTURAL BLOCK - - IDA VALLEY.

—o—(to the editor of the dunstan times.) Sir,—l forwarded you copy of the correspondence in reference to the above, which I expect you will publish. I will never be a party (even if it were legal, which it is not) to lock up any lands in the Dunstan District against settlement, by giving an indefensible lease to the pastoral tenants for a long term of years. I trust that I shall soon succeed in getting another agricultural block of land thrown open in the Dunstan District, without submitting to the conditions endeavoured to be imposed by the Hon. F. D. 8011. I will never be a party to selling the rights of the people for a mess of pottage. Yours, &c , T. L. SHEPHERD. Dunedin, May 18, 1872.
