DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.
—0 The usual monthly meeting of the Committee of management was held in the Committee room on Monday, April 1, 1572, at 8 p.m. Present, Jas. Hazlett, Esq., (President,) and Messrs. Cambridge, .Marshall, Cox, Holt, Auckland, A. Christophers, (Treasurer), and G Fache, (Secretary). The minutes of last monthly meriting were read and conGrmed. The inward correspondence consisting of letters from Mr. Mellor, Dryliread, enclosing cheque for amount of Hospital Race run at Black's No. 1, and suggesting that a.! present be made the rider ; from Mr. \V. Greenbank, enclosing cheque, amount of subscriptions ; from the Resident Surgeon, were read and received. The outward correspondence, comprising letter to the Provincial Government, asking for a special Grant to make up the deficiency caused by the reduction of. Subsidy, were read and adopted. The President stated, that when in Dunedin, lie had S'jen his Honor the Superintendent, also, Donald Peid, Esq., the Provincial Treasurer, relative to the special Grant, and tint they had informed him the matter should receive the attention of the Executive. The Visiting Committee'a report No. 1 was read ami received. The Keport No. 2 recommending payment of accounts, 86/. Is. lOd. bo passed for payment, was read and adopted. The Treasurer reported as follows : Subscriptions and Donations,

JResolved.—That the Secretary be instructed to acknowledge the receipt of corrcspondenceaml to inform Mr. Mellor that the funds of the Institution will not warrant them in making a present to Hugh Richardson, the rider of the horse winning the hospital race at Black's, but desire to thank him. Resolved, —That the visiting committee be instructed to forward patients Langland and Dornan (chronics) to Dunodin. Resolved, —That Mr. Preshaw, Cromwell member of ■Committee, be requested to form a local Committee, with a view of canvassing the district for funds. Mr. C. V. Beck was elected member of the Visiting Committee, pice Air. Cambridge retiring.
