—o— The so inn I in ruthly mooting ot tho cnnmitteo was held on Monday evening last. Present, Messrs. Hnstis, (in tho Chair) Alexander, Williamson, Little, Sims, and M ‘Leod. The minutes of the last meeting was read and confirmed. Tho corrospon lence receive I by the Secretary from other Associations was laid before the members of the Committee and approved of. Upon a letter being read from Mr. Shepherd stating that tho Government bad granted the agricultural lease to Mr. Hanlan, it was resolved “ That the Secretary be requested to write to the Superintendent, objecting to the same, and requesting to know bn what grounds tho same was granted, and that the granting of the same was contrary to the evidence given on the hearing of the application, and of tho Memorial sent. A discussion ensued as to the action taken
by the Government in the matter, and much surprise and dissatisfaction was expressed at the same. .
It was further resolved, " That the Secretary be requested to draw up a detailed account of the case,. and to circulate tho same - through tho mining journals of tho I’rovinca
