CLYDE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE DUNSTAN TIMES. Sir,—lt is said that the new Committee will attempt to turn the Town Hull into a school loom. Will the rate-payers consent ! Will the Committee have means to pay for damage to paint and furnishing, to be caused by an unruly mob of children, in addition to the extra expense of rent, cleaning, building of water-closets, &c. ? Do they yet know that, after the present holidays are over, they will require a larger room for some months? Had they iot better set to work at once and get the now school room built, without troubling about any more make-shift arrangements ? If the Hall was once given up, as a temporaiy school room, do they think any one, even among themselves, would trouble about a new building ? I am, &c., A RATEPAYER. Clyde, Jan. 10, 1872.
