CLYDE BAND OF HOPE.
A meeting of the members of this Society was held on the 27th ult., for the purpose of electing e managing committee. Mr. Peter b’ankin in the Chair. Upon discussion it was decided that a committee of seven should he elected, of whom three should form a quorum for the transaction of business. The following members were then elected as a Committee—Messrs. D. M'Connochie, Richards, Hughes, Swain, R. C. Moore, E. Ryan, and P. Rankin. The first meeting of the Committee was held on Tuesday evening last. On that date ihe following members were appointed to office—Mr. Rankin, Chairman, and Mr. R. C. Moore, Secretary. Masters John M'Connochie ami RobertMuore were authorised to still sign cards of membership issued to junior members of the Society. It was decided ihat the sanction of the Council should be obtained for the use of the Town Hall on Friday the ffth of Novem ber, (Prince of Wales’ Birthday) for the purpose of holding a tea meeting, and any surplus monios accruing from such celebration should be handed over to the Clyde School Committee. A managing committee consisting of Messrs. M'Connochie, Swam and Moore was appointed, and Messrs. Rrnkin and Moore were deputed to wait on the Mayor and Town Council to obtain the use of the Hall, Some further business as to charge for tickets to the Soiree, and the free admission of junior members of the Band of Hope was transacted, and a vote of thanks to the Chair terminated the proceedings.
