TOWN COUNCIL CLYDE.
An adjourned meeting of the Council was held in the Council Chamber on Wednesday evening, the 9th instant. Present—James Hazlett Esq., J.P., Mayor, ami Councillors Brough, Patterson and Clark. Resolved,—On the motion of Councillor Clark, That the salaries for the ensuing year be at the following ra'e.—Town Clerk, 35/. with ten per cent on tho water rates ; Assessors, 2/. 2s. each ; Auditors, 1/. Is. each audit; Inspector of nuisances, 10/. per annum, Resolved,—On the motion of Councillor Brough, That Mr. R. Barlow be appointed Town Clerk for the ensuing year. Councillor Clark drew the attention of tho Town Clerk to the fact that vehicles were hired out without paying licenses, and was instructed to act in the matter. A conversation relative to the coming sale of town sections took place, and it was asked if the fifteen feet surveyed at the rear of the sections on the west side of Sun-derland-street would be sold, ultimately tho Town Clerk was instructed to ascertain. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated tho proceedings.
