THE DUNSTAN HOSPITAL.
The adjourned monthly meeting of the Committee was held in the Pubic Library, on Wednesday the 10th inst. Present: J, Hazlett, Esq. ( chairman), and Messrs. Clark, Beck, Fache, George, Barlow, ( Secretary), and Christopher (treasurer). The minutes of last monthly meeting: and of adjourned meeting, .were read. After some dcscussion it was considered, in consequence of the absence of the President and vice President, it would be advisable to confirm the minutes of the monthly meeting, and to allow the others to stand over. A resolution to that effect was ultimately passed and carried. Inward and outward correspondence was read and confirmed. Visiting Committee’s Report No. 1 was read and received. Report No. 2, recommending accounts amounting to £lO3 18s. 7d., was read and received. Treasurer’s Report, shewing By Balance due to Bank last report £454 18 8 June accounts 124 12 C 579 11 2 To Subscriptions, &o. £72 14 0 Paying Patients 0 10 0 GoverumentSubsidy229 12 0 308 10 0 Balance due to Bank 270 14 8 Government Subsidy due 215 13 8 The Resident Surgeon’s Report shewed Patients admitted during the month 0 Discharged 6 Remaining in House at the end of July 8 Daily average of Patients 7 4 The patients admitted were from Alexandra, one; Monte Christo Farm, one; Dunstan, two ; Cardrona, one ; Butcher’s Gully, one. The collector reported, that he had visited, since the last monthly meeting, Cromwoll, Bannockburn, Bendigo, and Kawarau Gorge, and had been highly successful in collecting funds, and that a more healthy feeling existed towards the Institution than formerly, and would suggest that a vote of thanks be recorded to those gentlemen who had exerted themselves in the raising of funds. Resolved, That a vote of thanks be recorded in favour of Mr. MTndoe; Blacks; Mr. Purton, St. Bathans; Mr. Goldsmith Bannockburn! Mr. Hansan, Kawarau Gorge; and Mr. M'Lean, Ardgour Station. The Secretary was requested to tender the thanks of the Committee to the Lancashire Bellringers, for their offer to give an entertainment for the benefit of the Hospital. The visiting Committee were instructed to make arrangement for the cultivation -of the garden. Mr. C, P. Beck was elected a member of the Visiting Committee in theplace of Mr. W. Grindley, retiring. A vote of thanks to the Chair concluded the meeting.
