CLYDE TOWN COUNCIL
An adjourned meetin of th e Council was held in the Counoil Chamber, on Friday last, sth inst. Present: J. Hazlett Esq., J, P., Mayor, and full council. Coucillors Hastie, Paterson, and Welsford were elected as the Public Works Committee, and Councillors Naylor, Clark, and Huestou the Finance Committee. A discussion ensued relative to the Salary of the Town Clerk and Collector for the ensuing year. As it was decided that the meeting of the Council would in future be held but once a month, it was suggested thata a reduction "houl Ibe made, and it was resoved. That the salary of Town Clerk and Collector bo at the rate of £35 per annum, and to receive ten per cent, on water rate. Resolved, That the Assessors receive the sum of £2 2s. each for the ensuing year. The Auditor £1 la. each per audit, and the Inspector of Nuisances £lO per annum. The Town Clerk was instructed to advertise in “ Dunstan Times”for application to the office of Town Clerk. See advertisement. Mr. Cambridge’s tender for forms for Town-hall was accepted. Account was passed for payment: T. Hnghes £4.
