CLYDE SCHOOL.
The Regular Committee Meeting was held on the evening of Thursday, the 14th inat. Present: Messrs. Hazlett (in the chair), Marshall, Hueston Hastie, George, and Christophers (Clerk). The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Letters from Mr, Hislop, Secretary to the Board of Education, dated the 22ud and 25th of June, and the 4th of July, and a telegram dated the 25th of relating to Government subsidy, were read and received. The Sub-Committee reported that the Master’s new residence was completed, at a cost of £2lB Is. 7d. Resolved, That the account be passed for payment. Proposed by Mr. Hueston, seconded by 1 Mr. Marshall, and carried* That the Bank
of New South Wales be applied to for an advance of £IOO, on the personal security of the members of Committee, pending the receipt of Government subsidy for the same amount, so that a proportionate amount of the accounts for building the Master’s residence may be at otlcfi paid. Proposed by Mr. Hastie, seconded by Mr. Hueston, and carried, That Mr. Hislop be asked to obtain, as early as possible, £IOO, Government Busily; and so much.adbitionai aid as can be spared. John Parcell's account for £2, for four weeks’ rent, was received and passed fot payment. The Schoolmaster’s reports for May and June, and a statement, showing fees to the amount of £2O Bs. due, were read and received. The Clerk and Treasurer reported the receipt of £ls, being the net proceeds of the late entertainment given by the Winter Evenings Entertainment Society, and explained that, i ncludxng the cost of the new residence for the Schoolmaster, there was a debt of £206 4s. 7d., against which there was the Government subsidy, £IOO promised-, to receive. Proposed by Mr. Hheston, seconded by Mr. . Hastie, and carri d, That a vote of thanks be recorded to the Winter’s Evening Entertainment Committee fof the benefit in aid of the School funds, Proposed by Mr. Marshall, seconded by Mr. George, That, as the Committee are ill want of funds, the Schoolmaster be requested to collect the fees due, and also accounts for plants and trees that had been sold. Carried. After a vote of thanks to the Chairman,the meeting adjourned.
